As part of building a large web application for a client, we had hundreds of documents in various formats like HTML pages, PDF documents, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The client needed to be able to search the actual content of these documents within the resource section of the website.

Utilizing SQL Full-Text Search we added functionality that permitted administrators to upload and maintain documents with full version control features. The admins could also add titles, descriptions and keywords for the uploaded documents which helped in ranking results when a search was performed so the most appropriate content was returned first.
